Leaves, mushrooms, seed pods, and other small natural forms are preserved through electroforming - a process in which the organic piece is coated in a conductive layer and placed in a copper-rich solution. Over time, copper builds up on the surface, forming a solid metal shell that captures every detail of the original material.
